Here's your opportunity to estimate how many wins we will have this year.

The winner will be the person who correctly guesses the number of wins Hawthorn has at the end of the home and away season. In the (likely) event that more than one person picks the same number, the winner will be be determined by the person closest the pin with their estimate of the percentage.

If there are two or more winners, we will determine a method of elimninating all but one person.

So post away, number of wins and our percentage.

THE CLUB HAS AGREED TO SUPPLY SOME PRIZES FOR THIS COMPETITION. THESE ARE STILL TO BE DETERMINED, BUT THEY HAVE PROMISED THAT THEY WILL BE GOOD!

http://www.mightyhawk.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5408

Hawthorn won 23.16 (154) to 6.14(50) The only lowlight was the injury to key defender Trent Croad who will miss up to 12 weeks with a broken arm.

Forward Lance Buddy Franklin was superb kicking 6 goals the same amount as the whole melbourne team. Rioli,Stokes and Dew had great debuts for the hawks and are set to be big contributers this season.

GOALS
Hawthorn: Franklin 6, Roughead 3, Osborne 3, Dew 2, Boyle 2, Stokes 2, Campbell 2, Taylor, Young, Rioli
Melbourne: Robertson 3, Green 2, Newton

BEST
Hawthorn: Bateman, Franklin, Mitchell, Gilham, Osborne, Ladson, Dew, Birchall
Melbourne: Jones, Buckley, Green, Moloney

Hawthorn have continued it's good form of round 1 with a 15 point win over Fremantle at subiaco on saturday night. Hawthorn controlled the game for most of the match apart from letting a near 6 goal lead during the third quarter drop to under 2 goals by three quarter time. Hawthorn then kicked away again in the final quarter before the dockers slammed home the last four goals as hawthorn seemed to run out of legs but did enough to win by 15 points.

Sam Mitchell was again brilliant in the midfield with another best on ground performance. Youngsters Travis Tuck,Cyril Rioli and Clinton Young were also very good through the middle. Buddy Franklin and Jarrad Roughead both kicked 4 goals up forward.

The only downside for hawthorn were the injuries to dew, ladson and young. Dew will miss 4 to 6 weeks with a bad hamstring while young and ladson will be closely monitored during the week but should be right and would only miss one week at worse.

I have to mention the great hawthorn support behind the goals i was sitting there and we were very loud. A great turnout by us hawk supporters in W.A.

HAWTHORN 3.4 8.7 11.11 16.16 (112)
FREMANTLE 3.0 4.4 10.7 14. 13 (97)

Goals
Hawthorn: L Franklin 4, J Roughead 4, T Boyle 2, C Rioli 2, M Osborne 1, C Stokes 1, R Campbell 1, T Tuck 1
Fremantle: M Pavlich 3, L McPharlin 2, J Carr 2, C Mayne 2 , R Crowley 1, J Farmer 1, A Sandilands 1, P Bell 1, R Palmer 1

Best
Hawthorn: Young, Mitchell, Sewell, Tuck, Hodge, Roughead, Franklin, Osborne
Fremantle: Pavlich, Bell, J Carr, Palmer, Dodd, Headland

Injuries
Hawthorn: Clinton Young, Stuart Dew (hamstring), Rick Ladson (shoulder)
Fremantle: Nil

Reports: Nil

Umpires: McBurney, Margetts, Nicholls

Official crowd: 38,022 at Subiaco Oval
